Sierra Pacific Power Feature Stories

Probably not...when it comes to your utility bill. Sierra Pacific Power's Equal Payment Plan can help you budget and avoid the varying bills seasonal weather can bring.

With the Equal Payment Plan, your utility bill isn't always changing. Normally, payments remain the same over the entire year. Knowing you've got a fixed payment each month makes budgeting easier.

Your equal payment amount is calculated by applying Sierra's current rates to your energy usage from last year. Your bill will show an Equal Payment amount due each month. Under the plan, your monthly bill will look exactly the same, except that the amount owed will be labeled "EPP."

Participation in the Equal Payment Plan is open once each year during the July billing cycle. Just pay the Equal Payment amount shown on your July bill before the next bill arrives. That's all there is to it. If you choose not to join, simply pay the "Actual Balance" due shown on the bill.

The plan is voluntary. You do not have to join. But if you do, and later decide the plan is not for you, you can cancel it at any time by writing or calling your nearest Sierra Pacific office.

After 12 months in the program, you may have underpaid or overpaid, depending on your usage. If you underpaid, Sierra can average the underpayment into your next Equal Payment year. If you overpaid for the year, your account will be credited. If the credit is $15 or more, you'll receive a refund check.
