An innovative program, called Discovery, has been developed to improve the accuracy of information necessary to plan and develop your large building project and to coordinate the process to have your utilities installed.
Initiated to save developers time, money and take some of the guess work out of project planning, our goal is to meet all the needs of the developer with increased responsiveness during initial project planning and development. From the very beginning, Discovery helps clearly identify all utility prerequisites and conditions you need to know. Discovery creates a partnership with developers to:
- promote clearer communication of key customer and utility requirements from pre-planning clear through to construction
- determine a preliminary construction schedule
- estimate more precise and accurate installation costs

The Discovery Process begins when a developer first inquires about
information on utilities for a project with Sierra Pacific. Discovery
works best for medium to large commercial and residential developments.
When a project is received, a Discovery team is assembled. It is
their job to develop a detailed proposal specifically tailored to
meet each project's individual needs. A time limit of three weeks is
imposed to finish this task. A project manager is named to be the key
point of contact with the customer.
The team addresses any complex issues that may relate to the project, and looks at what future development may be expected. This initial assessment is refined and the proposal is developed to provide an accurate estimate of total costs including preliminary plans and the installation of utility services. Recommendations are made for necessary resources, utility facilities and a project timeline tailored to the individual project.
Providing accurate, comprehensive information for the pre-plan phase of the project keeps the developer well informed for smart business decisions. Project schedules are refined as more information becomes available during the various construction phases.
