An incorrect Las Vegas Sun headline (02/28/2001) said a judge has halted the Public Utilities Commission's decisive move to grant our company emergency short-term price increases. The story itself correctly reported that District Judge Mike Griffin ordered a hearing to review the emergency rate increase the PUCN recently granted.

The company is eager to again present its case. "We look forward to the opportunity to have the issue before a judge where the facts can be presented," said Paul Heagen, acting vice president of Corporate Communications for Sierra Pacific Resources. "We have dealt responsibly in the face of an evident emergency."

The Las Vegas Sun has since changed the headline of the story on their Internet site.
